A Song Dynasty Qingbai Glaze Vase
Southern Song Dynasty, 12th / 13th century
The compressed rounded body raised on a high waisted stem and flared foot, molded with a combined pattern of lozenges and flowers, two comb-like bands encircling the body above the stem and on the shoulder, the long neck incised in the middle with a one-line band and surmounted by the everted mouth, covered overall with a light bluish green tone stopping at the flared foot, no glaze on the interior, the arched base burnt orange during the firing
Typical Jingdezhen Yingqing (Qingbai) ware, and the style of the vase was popular during the periods of the Southern Song to the early Yuan Dynasty.
Condition: expected wear and loss to glaze and edges due to longtime burial, an earlier restoration to the mouth rim, a chip on the foot rim
